Changes to government funding have led to the council announcing £64 million of cuts to services for the financial year 2017-18.
Bristol South MP Karin Smyth’s new survey asks for local opinion about council priorities as they implement government-imposed cuts. It is available as hard copy and online
Karin Smyth says: “The way these cuts are made is a matter for the council, but as south Bristol’s MP I have been making clear that I want them to prioritise support for children, older people, and those who are most vulnerable, as well as protecting people living in the most deprived communities, who often rely on vital services that could now face the axe.
“The aim of this survey is to help ensure I can hear from people who will be directly affected by the cuts, so I can take concerns directly to the government and to the city council as they plan ahead.”
